Alternative Laser Sources

In addition to it's normal laser products, the photonics group has also been involved in a number of projects that have required the development and manufacturing of other laser radiation sources. Some of these projects are listed below:

High repetition rate F₂ laser system
Nd:YAG laser resonator and beam propagation modeling
Medical diode laser system for treatment of Glaucoma
Ground laser radar system for detection of small objects
High energy chemical laser system
Nd:YAG micromachining workstation

These systems were developed for various clients and SDILasers' own applications to explore fields such as medical research, extreme ultraviolet (EUV) generation, military applications, and ground laser radar systems.

Although these lasers and laser systems do not form part of SDILasers' usual product line, they give our various clients access to unique lasers and laser systems without which they may not have been able to build their systems. In addition, developing these lasers improves our own knowledge base and allows us to develop better products for our CO₂ laser clients.
