 August 2008: Sandile Zungu has been appointed to the board of SDILasers.
 June 2008: Achieve stripping rates of 8-9m2.hr-1 for painted aircraft components.
 April 2008: Successful completion of prototype ground laser system.
 January 2008: Scientific Development & integration has undergone a restructuring process and a name change. The company will in future be known as Klydon with the laser group doing business as a separate division called SDILasers.
 September 2007: Successful extended lifetime operation of CO2 laser for paint stripping system. Laser delivering >2kW of average power at 300Hz.
 June 2007: Delivery of micromachining laser system for analysis of fuel pellets.
 March 2007: Delivery of third high pressure CO2 laser system to UCLA for ultrashort pulse amplification.
 September 2006: Received long term funding for development of a high speed paint stripping system for commercial aircraft from DST-Innovation Fund.
 August 2006: Comprehensive upgrade program commences for Lockheed-Martin UT500 lasers.
 October 2005: Start development project aimed at manufacturing high energy(>100J) laser system.
 January 2005: Demonstrate feasibility of laser based paint stripping of metal and composite aircraft panels for 3M.
 November 2004: High power CO2 laser delivered for use in Raytheon paint stripping cell.
